Firza was quickly expanding and required professional IT support to help support staff with their IT issues and requirements. They also required a real upgrade of their equipment and digital working.

“We want to be fully cloud-based so it enables all of our staff to work from anywhere. Even if that includes a beach in Hawaii” Said the CEO Asim Mirza.

They already had their emails with one cloud provider, but it did not offer them what they really wanted moving forward. Everyone had to work from the office as the staff worked off desktops apart from senior management. Then the government brought in the lockdown, Firza could not stop working as they provided services to the NHS.

They had to go fully remote as quickly as possible to reduce any service disruption.

A meeting was set up with the senior management to put a plan together. During that meeting, we had sourced stock for around 45 laptops. These where purchased and delivered to our workshop within 48 hours.

Our aim was to have them set up and ready within 72 hours. 43 hours later, some caffeine and much needed pizza. They were delivered on-site ready for distribution and assignment. This allowed the staff to work remotely and efficiently as best as they can.

We then moved onto the next item on the agenda. Moving the entire business to Microsoft 365. A plan was discussed, and a timeline was agreed. We sourced the licencing for them and started to set up Azure AD along with Intune and Security.

Once the main services were set up and tested, we started to role it out remotely. This involved contacting staff members batches at a time and moving their entire device over to Microsoft 365. All while minimising disruption to workload.

Firza have one office in Sandwich, one office in London and a handful of remote workers across the UK. This had been taken into account.

Three months later. All Firza staff members are working fully on the new Microsoft 365 system. All emails have been migrated successfully, all data has been moved into SharePoint with the relevant security groups and, most of all, the company can fully work remotely from anywhere.

Laptops had been sent out in the post to remote workers and when they were working comfortably, they sent the old ones back to be reused later in the business.

Windows Defender with Advanced Threat Protection is configured and set up along with two-factor authentications. Intune (Mobile Device Management) has been configured and rolled out to prevent data loss and a new system in place for working.

This project was completed within budget and on time.
